 Thomas Ken (1637-1711)

Thomas Ken (1637-1711), autor de Doxologia (hino 8 do Cantor Cristão) ficou órfão na infância e foi criado por sua irmã Ann e o esposo dela, Izaak Walton. 

Em 1662, Thomas Ken foi ordenado pastor e em 1685 tornou-se bispo de Bath and Wells. 

Doxologia foi publicado em 1674 no Man­ual of Pray­ers for the Use of the Schol­ars of Win­chester Col­lege e é a parte final de um longo hino evangélico intitulado Awake, my soul, and with the Sun.
